Welcome to an exciting new year of gaming adventures at Canada’s Collectible Games! We’re thrilled to present our January 2026 featured event schedule, showcasing some of our biggest tournaments, prerelease events, and community gatherings that bring together enthusiasts from across the region.
January kicks off with a bang on January 3rd, featuring our Shardbugs Learn to Play session for newcomers alongside our prestigious Annual Invitational. This exclusive invite-only tournament celebrates the champions who earned their seats throughout 2025 by winning tournaments at our store. It’s an exciting opportunity to watch top-level competitive play as last year’s best players battle for ultimate bragging rights and special prizes.
The excitement continues on January 5th with another Shardbugs Learn to Play event and a Netrunner Learn to Play session, both designed to welcome newcomers into these fantastic game systems. We’re also hosting Riftbound Skirmish, giving players the chance to engage in this exciting competitive experience. Our Learn to Play events are carefully structured to provide hands-on instruction, rules guidance, and friendly gameplay that helps new players build confidence and understanding of game mechanics.
Mid-month brings the highly anticipated Lorwyn Prerelease events on January 16th and 17th, giving Magic: The Gathering players the exclusive opportunity to get their hands on the newest cards before the official release. Prerelease events are always special occasions where the community comes together to explore new mechanics, discover powerful synergies, and experience the thrill of opening fresh packs. January 16th also features our Pokemon Challenge, catering to trainers of all ages who want to test their deck-building skills and battle prowess.
January 18th offers something for every type of competitor, with the Locana Set Championship showcasing top-tier competitive play and another Lorwyn Prerelease for those who couldn’t attend the earlier dates.
The month concludes with an epic gaming extravaganza on January 24th, featuring tournaments for Dragonball Masters, Dragonball Superfushion World, Gundam Cardgame, and Union Arena. This multi-game event day represents our commitment to supporting diverse gaming communities and providing competitive outlets for players across multiple popular collectible card game systems.
